A wee update-areeno

2018 was a good year and I decided I wanted to do even more in 2019. I’m currently putting book 2 of the 100 Word Horror’s series together and plan to have it released by late Feb. I’m also close to finishing the Black Edition of The Horror Collection. The Gold Edition has been really well received.

The novella I have been mentioning from time to time that I am co-writing with Christina Bergling is now finished. Christina is just having a last read through and then we will get it out to some beta readers to see what they think. Oh, we have a name for it now. Screechers.

I have short stories in 5 upcoming anthologies and several others awaiting feedback so I’m keeping busy. When the two current anthos are complete I will be turning my attention back to the extension of Halloweenland from Collected Halloween Horror Shorts. I’ve had a lot of people tell me they would have loved it to be longer and that they wanted to know what happens next. Now you will find out. Hoping to have this one available in the next few months.

Watched a few good movies recently. ‘Green Book’ was a good watch & ‘Michael Inside’ was superb. I enjoyed Only the Brave too but it was slow.

Been watching a UK show called 2 Doors Down which is hilarious but I’m caught up to the current series so now I need to watch just one a week.

In other news I was excited to heat that there was a Breaking Bad movie being made. Looking forward to that one.

That’s about it for now. Until next time…

My top ten reads in 2018

These books weren’t all published in 2018, they were books I read in 2018. They are not in order of my favourites as I’d struggle to do that. They are just a list of the ten books that I enjoyed reading the most throughout the year. I would recommend each of these books to all of you.

Larry – Adam Millard
Korean Road – Brian Scutt
The Obsidian – Lee McGeorge
The Pigeon – Andrew Lennon & Christopher Motz
Beautiful Hell – Jeffrey Thomas
Grim Riders – Tim Curran
Blister – Jeff Strand
Stacking Doll – Carlton Mellick
Forest Underground – Lydian Faust
Man-Eating Fuckers – David Owain Hughes

If you would like to have a look at what I read last year.

I didn’t get as much reading done in 2018 as I would have liked. It’s probably the least I’ve read for pleasure in years but I did read hundreds of short story submissions for anthologies so that slows me down. Here is the Goodreads list of what I did read. Although it was only 34 books there were some great ones in there. I’ve given them all a rating and a lot of them a review.
