Hydrophobia – Charity Antho

When Houston was devastated by Hurricane Harvey, a group of authors pooled their talent together and donated their stories for you to dive into your worst water phobias, and to benefit those who lost everything to the power of one of Mother Nature’s most destructive forces.

Hydrophobia: The fear of water.

The human body is made up of approximately 60% water. We need it to live, to keep clean, to cool off, and we’d die within ten days without it.

** Proceeds from this anthology will go toward victims of Hurricane Harvey. **

I dont have a story in this one. I was just part of the team that put it together.

Another long overdue update

So, we have probably established now that I’m not going to be very good at keeping this up to date but I have updated the book section again to include my new works. Have a look. There is some great stuff in there. Collected Halloween Horror Shorts is now available, along with two charity anthos containing my stories.

Hydrophbia, I think will be the next book released that I was involved with. This one is raising money for the survivors of hurricane Harvey in Houston. I don’t have a story in this one but I was part of the team who read the submissions and I voted on each story to see which would make the final book. A lot of great authors submitted there stories to help out. I also decided the final order they would appear in the book. It should be on Amazon within the coming days.

I’m now working on several projects. The first is another co-written book, this one with Christina Bergling. It will be a posy-apocalyptic tale but that’s all I can tell you right now. I’m working on a solo novella about a guy who doesn’t like people very much but is a massive animal lover. This story will be about his deep unhappiness with fox hunters. The third is a novella that will be set in my Carnival Tales world, which another few authors are working on stories for as well. If you haven’t already you can check out the first story in Collected Halloween Horror Shorts. The rest will have links to this story but will also be stand alone stories.

A little update on some of my recent watches:

Brawl in Cell Block 99
Thought this was a pretty good movie but it’s quite slow in parts.

Jungle
I really enjoyed this one. It was also slow in parts but Radcliffe’s acting was excellent and kept it going. It’s also based on a true story.

68 Kill
I had really enjoyed the book and often that means I will be let down by the movie but this one was excellent. Hopefully there will be more Bryan Smith books made into movies in the near future.

Spiderman Homecoming
In my opinion this is the best Spiderman movie that has been made to date. Loved Keaton in it too.

Glasslands
A good cast but the pacing was too slow. Was bored through most of the movie and didn’t particularly like the ending.

The Babysitter
I really thought this looked crap but too many people had said it was good so I gave in and watched it. It’s a really well put together movie. Lots of laughs, lots of gore, decent acting, what else do you need?

I think that’s about it for now. As always I’ll try and post more often but you can always keep up to date with me on Facebook too. You’ll find my page through the links section on here.

A few updates for you

I’m trying to use the site more and more. It’s been slow going but I’m getting there. I’ve updated the books section and started using the blog again after a little while away. I’ve been pretty busy over the last few months so thought I’d post some updates.

The novella that J.C. Michael and I were working on for over a year is finally out. If you haven’t heard me going on about it in one place or another here’s a look at the cover.

The feedback so far has been great and it’s only been released for two days. I recently appeared in a charity antho as well. Pic below.

You can find links to all of these books in the book section, along with synopsis.

In the next week or so this one will be available.

And last but not least I can finally reveal the cover for an upcoming antho that I don’t have a release date for but do have a story in.

Now, there are probably a load of things I’ve forgot to cover but I will post again soon with any more updates that spring to mind. Happy reading 🙂

You Only Get One Shot

Synopsis:

What would you do if someone demanded you write the best story of your life, to be judged online? That your life depended on it.

Four well-known authors receive an email telling them they are responsible for a suicide. Their antagonist makes it clear she is out for revenge and they have no option but to comply. Their task is to post the best story they can imagine online and await judgement. Filled with guilt, anxiety, and even a few murderous tendencies, each writer weaves their tale and hopes for the best. It’ll be the competition of their lives. Who’s story will win? Will anyone survive?

If you enjoy tense, fast-paced horror, then you will love Kevin J. Kennedy and J.C. Michael’s You Only Get One Shot! Your shot is now. Read You Only Get One Shot today.

Praise for the book:

“Kennedy & Michael’s _You Only Get One Shot_ is quite a clever noir narrative, blending several gritty tales together into one unforgettable “escape by your wits” premise that will keep you turning the pages in terror till the twisty end is brilliantly unveiled. Gleefully disturbing and darkly terrifying to writers like me, this is such a clever and diffuse story, with the same puzzling torment of the SAW movies, but all the grit of a pulp crime novel. If you have this book in your hands or on the screen right now, you better buy it right away, because you only get one shot…”

Michael A. Arnzen, Bram Stoker Award winning author of Play Dead

“You Only Get One Shot gives all new meaning to a publishing deadline! Quite entertaining!”

Weston Kincade, author of the ‘A Life of Death’ series.
